Re: U-20 World Cup
Day 9 - Round of 16 decided.
Brazil 3-0 N.Korea
Germany 5-1 Honduras
Nigeria 2 -0 Hungary
Fiji 0-3 Uzbekistan.

So to sudden death:
Ukraine v Senegal
Ghana v Mali
Portugal v NZ
Serbia v Hungary
Brazil v Uruguay
Germany v Nigeria
USA v Colombia
Austria v Uzbekistan

Re: U-20 World Cup
Day 8
Senegal 2-1 Qatar
Portugal 3-1 Colombia (both into Rd of 16)
Serbia 2-0 Mexico (Mexico out)
Uruguay 1-1 Mali

These two ended up dead even and has to be seperated by lots which determined that Uruguay finish 2nd and Mali 3rd

Diego Poyet played 90 minutes: tidy but unspectacular: played just in front of defenders for 65 mins and when one of them was subbed he dropped into defence.

Re: U-20 World Cup
Day 7
Austria 0-0 Argentina
Panama 0-1 Ghana
Ghana win group, Austria runners-up, Argentina and Panama eliminated.

Ukraine 3-0 USA
NZ 5-1 Myanmar
Ukraine win group, USA runners-up.
Myanmar eliminated. NZ could make Rd of 16 depending on other results over next 2 days

The average age of that Qatari team will be about 26.3

Re: U-20 World Cup
Day 5
Portugal 4-0 Qatar (so that's Tatar Qatar)
Colombia 1-1 Senegal
Serbia 2-0 Mali
And as monk indicated
Mexico 2-1 Uruguay

Went to Portugal v Qatar: fairly predictable outcome as Port very well organised team. Liked the look of their No.18 Gelson Martins, wide player left and right. Taken off after 65 minutes so assume they're conserving him. Senegal v Colombia poor to average. I quit at half-time (1-1) as bloody frozen!

Uruguay lose 2-1 to Mexico.

Poyet on as 70th minute sub. All goals scored after he comes on.

Bit young though aren't they... I know it's under 20s but a four year old?

Re: U-20 World Cup
Both Hungarian central defenders looked very tidy (albeit only vs N. Korea): Kecskes (4) and Lenzser (5). Lenzser seemed the focal point being generally the go-to player when coming out of defence. Let's see how they go against Brazil tomorrow!

Re: U-20 World Cup
A fine right sided central defender, and is only 19 years of age and Captain of the Hungary u 20.

We wont sign him ,but he is a pleasure to watch

Remember the Name: "Kechkes" I think He is wearing the number 4 and captains armband for his country

Re: U-20 World Cup
Day 3.

Rather exploded into life today.

Brazil 4-2 Nigeria
Went to this: superb football from both sides. Though obviously better going forward than defending! Brazil scored first 1-0, then 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 4-2 - Nigerial keeper at fault for 3rd and 4th. I'm not a great one for picking out individual displays, but the Brazil RB, Joao PEDRO of Palmeiras, caught the eye. Remember that name.
Other results:
Korea DPR 1-5 Hungary
Germany 8-1 Fiji
Uzbekistan 3-4 Honduras

Good work percy.
Hopefully Poyet will get more game time in the future games

Brazil should be interesting. Hope the game isn't held up too long checking the Nigerians birth certificates.

Re: U-20 World Cup
Day two:

Mexico 0-2 Mali
Uruguay 1-0 Serbia
(Diego Poyet came on in 71st min.)

I went to:
Colombia 1-0 Qatar
Portugal 3-0 Senegal

Pleased to see the only English club flag on display around the Hamilton pitch was West Ham's and also more Hammers shirts/headgear in the crowd than any other club (and even a West Ham blanket!)

Portugal were slick: scored inside the first minute and two more right at the death, could (should) have scored several more. Despite losing Senegal looked a good side.

Off to watch Brazil v Nigeria on Monday.
